Balochistan LG polls: Aerial firing reported at Chaman’s polling station

CHAMAN: Aerial gunfire broke out in a neighborhood in Chaman district during Local Government (LG) elections in Baluchistan, SIAL NEWS reported on Sunday.

As detailed, the tensions between the leaders of the political parties led to aerial shots in the Municipal Corporation Room No. 3, Chamán, due to the delay in carrying out the voting and the disappearance of two ballots in the voting equipment.

DRO Sohail-ur-Rehman arrived at the polling station with the news from SIAL NEWS in Ward No. 3 and the police and administration took control of the polling station.

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has warned against taking strict action in case of violations during the voting process as local body elections are underway in Balochistan province.

The CEC that supervises the electoral process in the central control room said that the ECP will not tolerate any interference during the electoral process and urged the masses to exercise their right to vote without any fear.

“People should go out of their house and vote for their representatives,” said Sikandar Sultan Raja, further warning that legal action would be taken against anyone who prevents women from voting.
