Meta-property platforms FacebookInstagram and Messenger suffered massive outages on Tuesday night, with the social media giant acknowledging that its users around the world are once again facing issues logging in due to a glitch.

Facebook and its Messenger services were apparently partially up and running again after being shut down for a couple of hours. Other apps, including Instagram and Threads, are still not working.

While millions of people around the world are unable to access social apps, website issue tracker fall detector confirms having tens of thousands of problems accessing or using Facebook and its photo-focused Instagram network, as well as Messenger.

There were more than half a million reports of problems with Facebook and other apps, and most of the complaints were about logging into a social site. Some people mentioned having problems with Threads and other applications.

Facebook down

With all eyes on Meta and its technical team, company spokesperson Andy Stone said they know people are having trouble accessing services. They mentioned working to fix it now.

Why does it take so long to fix the Facebook error?

Andy Stone, the spokesperson speaking on behalf of Facebook-owned Instagram, only admitted to having a technical issue, but did not share any update on the exact error that was making it difficult for users to access the site.

The company spokesperson has not given an exact time frame for resolving the outage and restoring the site.

Facebook The outage reminds everyone how dependent people are on the company owned by Mark Zuckerberg that is out of commission. This is not the first time that these sites are not accessible.

The longest outage occurred in 2021 and lasted about seven hours before some apps slowly returned to working order.
