Wasim Jnr sustains back pain before Pakistan vs India Asia Cup match
DUBAI: In another blow for the national team ahead of a successful Asian Cup match against arch-rivals India, Pakistan pacemaker Mohammad Wasim Junior suffered back pain during the team’s practice session on Thursday.
According to the details, the pacemaker in his right arm was sent to the hospital for an MRI after he complained of back pain during the training session.

The episode puts the pacemaker’s participation in Sunday’s long-awaited India-Pakistan match at risk, as the team management awaits the result of the MRI before making any decision on the matter.
Earlier, Pakistan faced a major setback in their Asian Cup campaign when the team’s main bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, was ruled out of the tournament following a knee ligament injury.
Right-arm pacemaker Mohammad Hasnain was included in the squad to replace Shaheen at the Asian Cup.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan will face India on Sunday in their first match of the 2022 Asia Cup.
