Short Story Writer Khadija Mastoor’s 29th Death Anniversary
KARACHI: One of the finest women writers of short stories in Pakistan, Khadija Mastoor is being remembered on her death anniversary today (Tuesday).
Khadija Mastoor, a great literary woman in the history of Urdu literature, was born in Bareili in 1927. She started writing short stories in 1942 and continued writing till her death. She has over 5 collections of short stories and 2 novels to her credit.
Her novel “Aangan” is regarded a literary landmark in Urdu.
Her younger sister Hajra Masroor is also an accomplished short story writer.
Khadija Mastoor died in London in 1982 and was buried in Lahore. SAMAA
