Shah Mahmood Qureshi calls on Pervaiz Elahi to discuss elections

LAHORE: Former Foreign Minister and PTI Leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with Punjab Assembly Speaker and PML-Q Leader Pervaiz Elahi on Monday as they discussed the overall political situation in the country, reported SIAL NEWS.

During the meeting, the two discussed the political situation, the long march against the government, cooperation between the two parties in the upcoming elections and other matters of mutual interest.

Pervaiz Elahi, while speaking during the meeting, said that Imran Khan is fighting for real independence and that he would be with him in this fight.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said his fight would continue unless new elections were announced. “Imran Khan just wants a new election,” he said, adding that they would continue their fight against corruption and looting in the country.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and the Quaid of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, has offered mediation between the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan , and the establishment.

In an interview with a foreign media outlet, Pervaiz Elahi recommended Imran Khan to target his political opponents rather than the military establishment. “I am ready to play my part in improving relations between Imran Khan and the establishment.
