PPP Leader Fauzia Wahab passed away in Karachi

KARACHI (June 17, 2012): Pakistan People’s Party’s senior leader Fauzia Wahab passed away after remaining under treatment at a local hospital for three weeks on Sunday night.

Fauzia Wahab, 56, had undergone a gallbladder surgery at a local hospital but suffered serious post-operative complications, which proved fatal for the veteran politician.

Her funeral prayer will be offered at Sultan Masjid in Defence Phase-4, Karachi after Zohar prayers on Monday the day after Shab-e-Miraj.

PPP has announced 10-days mourning on the tragic demise of its senior leader.

Pakistan Muslim League-N President, Nawaz Sharif, expressed grief on Fauzia Wahab’s death and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Babar Awan, talking to Geo News, expressed shock on the tragic news and sent condolences to the bereaved family.

Born in 1956, Fauzia Wahab was elected member of National Assembly from Sindh in general elections of 18 February 2008.
