Pak Navy remote-controlled plane crashed near National Oil Refinery in Korangi: Karachi
KARACHI: A small pilotless plane crashed near National Oil Refinery in Korangi’s industrial area Tuesday morning, according to police sources.
According to police sources, a Pak Navy remote-controlled plane crashed at the compound of National Oil Refinery situated in Korangi’s industrial area at 10am this morning.
The relief activities were kick-started soon after the crash, as the oil refinery caught fire as soon plane hit the ground.
Incharge Security Oil Refinery and police sources said the fire has been extinguished; however, the smokes are still seen billowing from the site.
According to Pak Navy sources, the plane was being used by Pak Navy employed to air control and take photographs.
Pak Navy spokesman Irfanul Haq informed that the plane crashed on Oil Refinery, as a bird struck against it. The fire that broke out at the crashed plane’s wreckage has been put out.
Pak Navy has started investigations into the incident.
SSP Korangi Usman Ghani said nobody was injured in the mishap.
Though no one was hurt in the crash incident; however, ambulances approached the accident site in such a large number that massive gridlock was created.
