“Kobe Bryant must be cussing him again”: NBA Twitter reacts to former 6’7″ Lakers player flopping in the ring
Former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Nick Young, aka Swaggy P, is knocked out of the ring in a bizarre match
Those of you who remember the steep decline of the Los Angeles Lakers from the 2013-14 season will surely remember Nick Young. The 6’7″ shooting guard, nicknamed Swaggy P, played four seasons for the team.
In those four seasons, the purple and gold never managed to win more than 27 games per season. They also had the worst losing record in the last two decades for four seasons.
Drafted by the Washington Wizards, Young was a good role player before his stint with the LA Lakers. Though he started out as a below-average scorer without much of an impact, he turned things around in his fourth season.
In his first season with the Lakers, though he registered 17.9 points per game. Young’s attitude and the team’s losing spree led to Kobe Bryant’s frustration. The late legend often disciplined his younger teammates.
Young once revealed how Bryant would react to a horrible loss.
Nick: “We were getting busted in Portland. Kobe is in the locker room waiting for everyone to come in. You know everyone there has ‘Kobe’s’ on the team. He walks in and says ‘You’re all playing soft’. How you gonna wear these shoes and y’all soft? This is not what we do here in Los Angeles.
“
He continued: “I’m not thinking about any of that. He tells everyone to take their shoes off, and I’m like ‘What? What’s wrong with you man?’ And we take them off. He just started grabbing people’s shoes and throwing them in the trash. It’s like ‘you guys don’t deserve this. Until they get it right, they can’t wear any Kobe’s.

Part of the worst Lakers team of the last decade, Swaggy P is also losing at boxing.
Swaggy P had a decent NBA career.
He earned a token with the Golden State Warriors in 2018, but the Nuggets waived him the next season.
On September 10, Young made his boxing debut against TikTok star Minikon. Although Swaggy P was winning until the third round, a blow from Minikon sent him out of the ring.
The NBA Twitter questioned the knockout with many even claiming that Young was failing. The former Lakers guard lost the fight and sparked an intense frenzy on social media.
