Kawhi Leonard unknowingly embarrassed his $9 million teammate during the 2019 Finals

During the Toronto Raptors meeting in the 2019 Finals, Kawhi Leonard directly ignored Normal Powell.

Kawhi Leonard he is often called a ‘cyborg’ or ‘robot’ for his peculiar behavior on and off the pitch. Whether it’s his emotionless face, his weird laugh, or, in this case, a rejected dap, The Klaw has given every reason to believe the rumors that he’s a robot.

During his stint with the Toronto Raptors, during the 2019 NBA Finals clash against Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors, Leonard gave us one of the funniest moments in the series.

Moments before Game 4, Norman Powell held out his hand for a touch from The Klaw. Kawhi, being the robot he is widely known for, stared at the fist for an awkward moment, before pointing forward and muttering a few words.

“I ended up giving Normal Powell five daps after that”: Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi seemed to have been in the zone before facing the then defending champions.

That same game, Leonard ended up putting up an astounding 36 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists as he helped the Raps win 105-92 to take a 3-1 series lead.

Speaking about Normal Powell’s previous situation, Leonard explained how he thought Powell tried to lure the team. Kawhi said:

“I told him right after, ‘I didn’t even know you were trying to dap me, I thought you were trying to get into a team circle,’ so I thought, here we go. He says, ‘Okay, everything is fine.’

“I ended up giving him five daps after that.”

That contest, Powell just played 11 minutes and went scoreless. Maybe, just maybe, the million-valued guard got demotivated after the rejected dap.
