Islamabad High Court restores Zaka Ashraf as PCB chief
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) restored as Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), seven months after he was sacked by the same court.
Ashraf was appointed as PCB chairman by the then President Asif Ali Zardari on 27 October 2011.
In June 2013, the IHC stopped him from working as PCB chief a petition challenging his election on the grounds that the process of his election was not transparent.
Today, a two-member bench comprising Justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi and Justice Riaz Ahmed heard an intra-court.
The bench voided IHC chief justice’s previous decision and restored Zaka Ashraf as PCB chief.
Sources said Asharaf would now be handed over all charges to exercise his powers as PCB chief. – SAMAA
