The Big Diesel is not entirely known in Australia, where basketball is not the most popular sport. However, thanks to his non-basketball related personality and identifiability, Shaquille O’Neal is also a much-in-demand guest, clearly.
The hosting duo decided to ask Shaq about a famous Superman story from his playing days. Shaq had allegedly spent $70,000 at a Walmart on a shopping spree. The curious Australian hosts had Shaq spill the tea on how and why he did it.

How and why did Shaquille O’Neal spend $70k on a Walmart outing?
O’Neal admits the shopping spree was forced out of necessity. After being abruptly traded to Phoenix for Miami, the Big Diesel was left without a place to call home from the start.
Shaq approached the owner of a 5-bedroom penthouse as his temporary residence in Phoenix. O’Neal paid a year’s rent in advance to avoid the hassle of staying in a hotel. This is because Shaq is certainly not a “hotel person.”
So now, Shaquille O’Neal had a house in Phoenix. But, the house was as empty as it seems. According to O’Neal, the house didn’t even have beds.
Shaq’s shopping spree at Walmart was all about making the house a home.
Starting with multiple televisions to inflatable beds, O’Neal practically brought the store home.
To make the house temporarily habitable, the lovable giant spent more than $7,000 on the cheap shopping spree. That’s a weird mix of humility and an absurd amount of wealth going hand in hand.
And as with all Shaq tales, this one too is beyond comprehension.
