‘Team’s morale is high, will try to do well in upcoming matches’ says Nawaz

DUBAI: Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz stated that the morale of the national team is high and they will try to perform well in the upcoming matches of the ongoing 2022 Asian Cup.

Nawaz, who interacted with the media on the sidelines of the team’s training session at the ICC Academy Ground on Wednesday, revealed that the national team is confident of performing well in their upcoming Asian Cup matches.

“Team morale is high, we will try to perform well in the next matches,” said Nawaz.

The left arm spinner also spoke about him bowling the last harrowing game of bowls in the high voltage clash against India and acknowledged that it is not an easy task for the spinners to bowl the penultimate in the shorter format.

“It is not easy for spinners to throw the last over in the T20s, but I was confident in the match against India,” Nawaz stated.

“The situation of the game became such that I had to throw the last one,” he said.

Nawaz then went on to reveal the physical condition of the pacemaker in Naseem Shah’s right arm and insisted that the young speedster did not sustain any injuries.

“Naseem Shah is not dealing with an injury, he had cramps,” he concluded.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan will face Hong Kong in a must-win match at the Asian Cup on September 2 in a bid to secure a place in the Super 4.
