Victor Wembanyama took the internet by storm after posting 37 points, 4 rebounds and 5 blocks against G-League Ignite.
Victor Wembanyama it is projected to be the next big thing in the NBA. At 7’4”, the French unicorn can dribble as efficiently as a shooting guard, dish out accurate passes, knock down his jump shots and is more than capable on the defensive end.
The 18-year-old has been an internet sensation for quite some time. However, he became the talk of social media after his stunning performance against G-League Ignite.
It was simply his first exhibition game on American soil, and it’s safe to say that the Metropolitans’ big man 92 did not disappoint the 200 NBA scouts and executives who came to watch him play.

Victor Wembanyama impressed LeBron James
Despite suffering a 122-115 loss, Victor was the star of the battle. Playing a total of 33 minutes, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft filled the stat sheet with 37 points, four rebounds and five blocks. During his scoring frenzy, Wembanyama also hit seven 3-pointers with an incredible 63.6% efficiency and made 8 of the 12 free throws he attempted.

Numerous NBA general managers not only spoke highly of the youngster, but even LeBron James received high praise from Victor. After the Los Angeles Lakers-Phoenix Suns preseason matchup, Bron was asked if he had time to watch Victor’s performance in the exhibition game.
LBJ went on to detail all the aspects of Wembanyama’s game that he enjoyed watching. Calling him an “alien”, King James said:
“Everyone has been a unicorn in recent years, but he is [Wembanyama] more like an alien. No one has ever seen anyone as tall as him but as fluid and graceful as him on the ground,” James said.
“I mean 7’4 or 7’5 or 7’3, or whatever the case may be. His ability to put the ball on the ground, shoot jumpers off the post, step back, catch and shoot 3-pointers, block shots,” added James.
“He’s a generational talent for sure and hopefully he continues to stay healthy as that’s the most important thing to him personally,” the Lakers forward said.
“You can tell he loves the game, he was smiling a lot last night during the game. He is a great player,” James said.

Before the two clashed, Victor and Scoot Henderson were considered to be two of the lottery’s chosen ones. And now, many basketball analysts and enthusiasts are confident that the duo would be the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the 2023 draft, respectively.
