Netizens irked over Faheem’s exclusion from PCB Central Contracts
KARACHI: A number of cricket fans have expressed their disappointment over the exclusion of Pakistan’s versatile bowler Faheem Ashraf from the recently announced Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Central Contracts for 2022-23.
Faheem, who has been an integral part of the Greenshirts’ red ball squad and a consistent member of the team’s recent game rosters, has remained unable to feature on the list of players named in the recently revealed core contracts.
Following his exclusion, a number of cricket fans took to Twitter and questioned his exclusion from the core contract. Pakistan’s renowned cricket statistician, Mazher Arshad, on the other hand, also seemed surprised by the decision.

A cricket fan also criticized Pakistan men’s national cricket team chief coach Mohammad Wasim and questioned whether the latter even follows cricket while also claiming favouritism.

Another cricket fan also weighed in on the off-roader’s exclusion, calling the decision shocking and astonishing.

Another cricket fan seemed unhappy with the decision, calling it “disgusting”.

Apart from Faheem, left-arm midfielder Sajid Khan, who was part of the Green Shirts’ red ball squad for the Bangladesh and Australia series, also failed to make it to center contracts.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s young right-arm pacemaker Mohammad Hasnain, who was awarded Category C in the previous year’s core contract, was unable to retain as he was sidelined after his brief stint in the Big Bash League. (BBL) as his bowling action was deemed illegal. .
Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Abbas and Imad Wasim are the other notable players who were not included in core contracts.
