Nawabshah tragedy: Funeral prayers of 13 School Children offered

Amid mourning and gloom, hundreds of people in Nawabshah attended funeral prayers of 13 school children and a teacher killed in yesterday’s tragic road accident near the Nawabshah city in Sindh.

A collision between a private school van and a heavy truck in Qazi Ahmed town near Nawabshah claimed lives of 21 people, including 18 students and three teachers.

“It was a head-on collision when the truck slammed into the school van on a single track dirt road. Apparently, speeding and recklessness resulted in the accident,” Abdul Rahim Gopang, a police officer told.

The road accident left 11 children injured.

Today, Nawabshah and its neighborhood wore a gloomy look as hundreds of people gathered to shoulder the funerals and attend last rites of the deceased. The heirs buried their beloved ones in local graveyard.

The children, who were students of the Bright Future School from the nearby town of Daulatpur, had come to Nawabshah for a school trip.
