Active players with most runs in ODI World Cups: Virat Kohli leads the charge (1030 runs)
The ICC ODI Cricketer of the Decade award winner, Virat Kohli, currently stands atop the list of active players with 1030 runs. Virat Kohli, who is the 5th highest run-scorer in ODI cricket history, aptly leads the way.

Kohli has played in three World Cups (2011, 2015, and 2019) and averages 46.81 in 26 innings. The batter also has two centuries and six fifties to his name in ODI World Cups.
David Warner (992 runs)
Veteran opener David Warner has played in two World Cups (2015 and 2019). The Southpaw won the trophy in 2015 and reached the semifinals in the 2019 edition.
Warner has played 18 matches and averages 62 with the bat. The left-hander has four centuries and three fifties to his name in ODI World Cups. He was also the second-highest run-getter in 2019, making 647 runs in 10 innings.
Rohit Sharma (978 runs)
The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was the top-scorer (648) in the last edition of the World Cup, falling 26 runs short of the all-time record.
Sharma has played in the last two World Cups and has reached the semifinals in both editions.
The right-hander averages 65.20 in 17 matches with six centuries and three fifties to his name.
Kane Williamson (911 runs)
The New Zealand skipper is still in doubt about making it to the World Cup 2023, but he has an impeccable record in ODI World Cups. Kane Willaimson was awarded player of the tournament in the last World Cup for his 578 runs and two wickets.
He averages 56.93 in 22 innings, with two centuries and three fifties. Williamson was also the runner-up in the last two editions.
Steve Smith (834 runs)
Steve Smith averages 46.33 in 20 innings. Smith who is known to convert his starts has a poor conversion rate in ODI World Cups. Having played three editions (2011, 2015, and 2019), Smith has just one century and eight fifties.
He won the title at home in 2015 and was the sixth-highest run-scorer in that edition.
