KARACHI: Brigadier (retired) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar has been re-elected unopposed as president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Friday.
According to the details, Khokhar was elected unopposed for a four-year term along with Haider Hussain as Secretary and Shahid Pervaiz Bhandara as Finance Secretary of PHF at the meeting held here at the Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Club.
All three were elected unopposed as no other candidates submitted nomination papers for the positions.
Previously, PSB sent a letter to Khokhar, the then chair of the ad-hoc committee, on August 3, a copy of which is available to ARY News, citing its concerns about holding elections without complying with constitutional and legal formalities.
.
The letter stated: “Holding elections in disregard of the legal modus operandi will have no legal sanctity in the eyes of the law and will lead to the initiation of legal proceedings by different factions of hockey which will ultimately culminate in having an adverse effect on hockey in Pakistan”.
