Karachi: Armed clash in Memon Goth leaves four dead, scores injured

KARACHI: At least four people were killed and eight wounded in a fierce gun battle between two groups in the Memon Goth neighborhood in Karachi’s Malir district on Saturday, SIAL NEWS reported.

Two groups resorted to heavy fire on each other in Karachi’s Memon Goth, leaving four dead and eight wounded.

Police said there was a dispute between the two groups over robbery incidents in the area that led to an armed confrontation. Police said two groups exchanged heavy fire.

The police teams began the identification of those responsible and the search operation to arrest the culprits.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Malir Irfan Bahadur, told the media that contingents of police came to the scene and brought the situation under control.

SSP Irfan Bahadur said more than 15 suspects were arrested along with heavy weapons as police cordoned off the area.

Officers have begun collecting evidence from the crime scene, he added.
