Justice Nasir ul Mulk will take oath as acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on Saturday (today) at 11am in Islamabad.

The oath will be administrated by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, on Friday, appointed Justice Nasirul Mulk new acting CEC after the resignation of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani.

It is to mention that earlier acting CEC Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani resigned from his position on Friday.

The ECP following the resignation of acting CEC Justice Jillani had sent a summary to the chief justice to appoint new acting CEC.

Justice Jillani relinquished his charge of acting CEC as he is going to take charge as Chief Justice of Pakistan on December 12.
