MUMBAI: India’s pacemaker Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming 2022 Asian Cup due to a back injury, Indian media have reported.
As per the details, India’s senior pacemaker Bumrah, who last played an ODI series away from home against England, is likely to miss the upcoming Asian Cup as a result of a back injury which will require some time. to heal.

Reports further suggest that the Indian team for the Asian event will be announced on Monday, but it is unclear if the announcement will be made on the same day.
“Jasprit Bumrah has a back injury and will not play in the Asian Cup. He is our main bowler and we would like him to be back in action before the T20 World Cup. We cannot risk him in the Asian Cup and the injury could get worse,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on condition of anonymity.
It is pertinent to mention here that Bumrah is currently enjoying a vacation with his family in the United States.
His injury is seen as a major setback for the defending champions, while young pacemaker Avesh Khan is likely to replace the veteran at the continental event.
