Chitral Heavy snowfall leads to closure of Lowari tunnel
With the arrival of December, heavy snowfall has led to the closure of Lowari Pass for an indefinite period, crippling the life and livelihood of the people of Chitral.
The communication system has been badly affected because of heavy snowfall in Chitral and most of the link roads including Lowari tunnel has been closed for all types of vehicular transportation, say media reports.
According to media reports Lowari tunnel the only road communication linking Chitral with other parts of the country has once again been closed after heavy overnight rain and snowfall.
Scores of vehicles including passenger carriers with men, women and children on board are seen stuck up outside the tunnel in extremely chill weather, while there is no relief in sight.
