Azad Jammu Kashmir Election 2011 Results Updates

RAWALPINDI, June 26 (APP): According to unofficial result of Legislative Assembly AJK LA 39, Valley 4 announced here on Sunday, the Pakistan People’s Party’s candidate Syed Azhar Hussain Gillani obtained 1397 votes while Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) candidate Zafar Ali has got 407 votes. According to another unofficial result of Legislative Assembly AJK LA-40, Valley 5, Abdul Salam Butt of PPP is leading with 1215 votes while Bashir Ahmed Khan of PML-N is on second position with 1037 votes. Result of 4 polling stations of Islamabad and 4 polling stations of Attock was being awaited till the filing of the story.

ISLAMABAD, June 26 (APP) – As many as six candidates of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)  have won their seats of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly from different constituencies on Sunday so far. According to unofficial results, the PPP candidate Syed Azhar Hussain Gillani won the LA 39, Valley-4 by securing 1397 votes while Pakistan Muslim  League (Nawaz) candidate Zafar Ali bagged 406 votes.

Sardar Yaqoob of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won from LA 19 Rawalakot-3 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly election.
Sardar Yaqoob secured 27642 votes while his close rival Sardar Khalid Ibrahim of Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party bagged 17703 votes.
Other PPP candidates who won their seats included: Afsar Shahid from LA-39, Valley-4, Chaudhry Akbar Ibraheem from LA-34 Jammu-Gujarat, Abdul Salam Butt LA-40, Valley-5 and Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, LA-2, Mirpur.

WAZIRABAD, June 26 (APP): PPP’s Ch Akbar Ibrahim has got 2572 votes against PML-N’s Javaid Akhter who achieved 2150 votes in AJK elections seat in Tehsil Wazirabad. According to the unofficial results, an independent candidate Raja Sikander got 569 votes, Shahzad Ahmed 382 votes, M Ilyas 7 votes and Usman Ali Jaffari 126 votes in the polling held on Sunday.  Former Provincial Minister Ch Shahnawaz Cheema, former MPA Ch Ijaz Ahmed Samma and other dignitaries and office bearers of PPP congratulated Akbar Ibrahim for the success in attaining first position in the polls.

According to unofficial results, Sardar Yaqoob secured 27642 votes while his close rival Sardar Khalid Ibrahim of Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party  bagged 17703 votes.

ATTOCK, June 26 (APP): The candidates of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) won majority in LA-35 (Jammu & others-6) and Kashmir valley-5 constituencies meant for AJK refugees, in connection with the AJK Legislative Assembly elections. Spokesman of the Election Commission Syed Zaigham Altaf told APP on Sunday that according to the unofficial results, the PML (N) candidate Raja Muhammad Saddique secured 1475 votes against the total of 2283 cast votes, PPP’s aspirant Amin Chugtai got 647 votes while Sardar Abdul Razzak of Muslim Conference managed to obtain only 30 votes.

In LA-35 (Jammu & others-6) constituency total registered voters were 4783 while nine polling stations were set up for polling across the district, he said.
He further informed that in Kashmir Valley-5 constituency, the PML (N)’s aspirant Bashir Ahmed secured 42 votes out of a total 100 cast votes while PPP’s candidates Abdul Salam Butt got 40 votes.
In this constituency, total registered Kashmir voters were 171, where four polling stations were set up to hold the elections.
The EC spokesman claimed that the elections were held in peaceful manner at all the polling stations of the district.

MULTAN, June 26 (APP):  PML-N candidate in LA 38 Valley-III (Azad Jummu Kashmir) Shoukat Ali Shah has won the election by securing 315 Votes from the polling stations established in Multan. According to unofficial results, a total of 555 voters at both male and females polling stations cast their votes. PPP candidate S. Mohammad Shah obtained 240 votes and remained second. The total number of voters were 1475 in Multan.

ISLAMABAD, June 26 (APP) – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Justice Khawaja Muhammad Saeed on Sunday announced the first elections result of Legislative Assembly AJK LA 39, Valley 4. According to announcement, Pakistan Peoples Party’s candidate Syed Azhar Hussain Gillani has obtained 1397 votes while Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) candidate Zafar Ali has got 406 votes.

PESHAWAR, June 26 (APP): PML (N) candidate Raja Siddique secured 16 votes lead against his rival Muhammad Ameen Chugtai of PPP for LA-35 valley-VI constituency from Peshawar on part of AJK elections held here on Sunday. According to unofficial results, as many as 140 votes out of 575  were polled by the Kashmiris living in Peshawar for LA-35 Valley-VI constituency.

As many as 85 male and 55 female voters have exercised their right in the peacefully ended election. Four votes were rejected by the returning officer due to various reasons.
The polling was held at Govt. Higher Secondary School No. 3, Peshawar Cantt where tough security arrangements were made by police.
Metal detectors were installed at main gate of polling stations beside body search of voters. Great enthusiasm were witnessed among voters, while candidates’ supporters have hired private transport by bringing voters for far-flung areas of the capital. Polling booths were also setup up by supporters of candidates in the premises of the polling station to make last effort to attract attention of voters.
Senior Minister KPK Govt, Bashir Ahmed Bilour and former SAFRON Minister Najmuddin Khan also visited the polling station and expressed satisfaction over security arrangements.
