NEW DELHI: Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who has tested positive for COVID-19, is likely to join the team in the United Kingdom (UK) ahead of their warm-up match, scheduled for June 24, Indian media have reported. .
The right arm spinner is currently in quarantine and will only be brought into the Indian squad after fulfilling all protocol requirements.
According to the details, Jayant Yadav, the player who is not rotating, is considered to be a possible replacement in case Ashwin does not recover in time, the Hindustan Times reported.
Ashwin was a member of the starting India squad that toured England for the first four Tests last year, but failed to make the Playing XI in any of the contests.
