The NBA recently agreed to lower the age of eligibility for players to 18, which means Bryce James could be in the 2025 Draft.
The NBA recently made headlines after sources revealed that the league along with the NBPA agreed to lower the age of eligibility for the NBA Draft to 18 from the previously set 19.
With this new change allowing the return of high school players by jumping directly into the league, there has been a lot of talk about James Bryce and his inclusion in the NBA a year ahead of schedule.
High school players have been prevented from making the jump to the NBA since the 2006 NBA Draft.
That could be changing as soon as 2024.

According to Broussard, a college education is irrelevant for NBA players. Comparing NBA stars who turned pro straight out of high school to Charles Barkley and Allen Iverson, the 53-year-old analyst.

“That was what they always said. ‘Well, they need the socialization of the university.’ LeBron James has been a model player. Tracy McGrady was fine, Jermaine O’Neal was fine, Kevin Garnett was fine. I mean these are some of the best citizens the league has seen.
And Charles Barkley, who’s not saying he’s a bad citizen, but he did throw someone out a window. He spat on the fan. He went to college. Allen Iverson didn’t want to practice, he went to college. You know what I’m talking? Some kids that went to college made big mistakes and those that came out of high school didn’t. So that’s not all.”
It will be exciting to see how the high school students of this era will match the intensity and competitiveness of the NBA.
