Peechay Hutt to Jalebi Baby: ‘Ms. Marvel’ takes desi music to MCU
Giving us more than one reason to stream the much-hyped ‘Millisecond. Wonderful’MCU has an intriguing musical lineup with desi chart hits.
Ms. Marvel desi soundtrack features a variety of Indian and Pakistani stars and their hit numbers against the background of the first desi female superhero story. As previously reported, rising singer Hasan Raheem’s coke studio chart success ‘Peechay Hutt’ has been included in the series.

Also, to support protagonist Kamala Khan’s South Asian background, one of the scenes in the debut episode featured the iconic Ahmed Rushdi. ‘Ko Ko Korina’ which also featured the performance of actor Ahad Raza Mir and Momina Mustehsan, in one of the seasons of ‘Coca-Studio’.
Pakistani rapper Eva B and ‘Pakistan nightingale’ Nahid Akhtar will be seen rapping in Urdu in the series. ‘Rozi’ Y “Sohniye I love you” respectively.
Not limited to Pakistani songs, Marvel has also included a host of Indian themes in the lineup, headlined by master AR Rahman ‘O Nanba’ of the protagonist of Rajnikanth ‘Linga’sung by the legendary SP Balasubramaniam.
The public will also witness the performance of Raja Kumari. ‘Goddess’by Ritviz ‘Wise’as well as Ishq Bector, Kully Bhamra and Angus Campbell’s ‘Disco Gully’ on the Marvel show.
Khan’s mixed emotions as she swoons over a new boy at school to be congratulated on Tesher’s upbeat song. ‘baby wild boar’ while the launch episode closed with Eva B’s voice saying, “Jo kuch bhi seekha galtiyon se hi seekha maine (Everything I have learned, I did from my mistakes)”.
‘Millisecond. Wonderful’ is the first Muslim superhero introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the story of Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, who is an obsessed Pakistani-American fan of captain marvelgrowing up in Jersey City.
The first episode of the miniseries premiered today and is currently streaming on Disney+. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy along with Meera Menon, Adil Al Arbi and Bilal Fallah have co-directed the project.
