Suicide blast near convoy of CM KPK, Amir Hyder Khan Hoti remains safe
PESHAWAR: A blast took place near convoy of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Hyder Khan Hoti on Friday near Mardan town. CM Amir Hyder Khan Hoti remained safe in the explosion.
The suicide bomber detonated himself near the convoy of the chief minister who was travelling to a rally in Mardan.
Chief Minister Hoti remained unhurt in the attack, and there was no loss of life reported.
According to initial reports, the convoy was targeted by a roadside Suicide bomb near Piranshah area in the KPK province as the CM was travelling to Mardan, his native town, to attend a rally of his party – Awami National Party (ANP).
Spokesman to the CM confirmed the blast, saying that Mr. Hoti has reached the rally venue safe and sound.
Police and security forces arrived at the blast site to investigate the blast which occurred day after the ANP-hosted All Parties Conference emphasized upon the need of negotiations with Taliban and other insurgent groups battling Pakistan army and ally forces in Afghanistan.
