‘Sarfaraz is the only backup option for Rizwan in Tests’ claims Rashid Latif

KARACHI: Former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif has leaned on ex-captain Sarfaraz Ahmed calling him the only backup option for Rizwan in the tests.

Former cricketer Rashid weighed in on the endorsement of Pakistan’s leading goalkeeper Rizwan in the Tests and stated that Sarfaraz is the only one who is equivalent to Rizwan standards in the longer format.

“He needs a backup wicketkeeper in Test cricket of equivalent standards to Mohammad Rizwan and Sarfaraz Ahmed is the only name at the moment who can do five-day wicket-keeping in a Test match,” Rashid stated.

The former goalkeeper batsman also weighed in on young goalkeeper batsman Mohammad Haris and stated that his inclusion cannot sideline Sarfaraz.

“The inclusion of Mohammad Haris cannot sideline Sarfaraz Ahmed,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan will tour Sri Lanka for the two-match test series in July this year.
