Petition filed against political activities of Dr. Tahir ul Qadri
LAHORE: A petition has been filed in Supreme Court Lahore Registry against the political activities of Dr. Tahir ul Qadri, Chief of Tehreek Minhaj ul Quran.
The petition was filed Barrister Zafarullah, pleaded the apex court that Tahir-ul-Qadri and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are hatching conspiracy to delay upcoming general elections.
Petitioner also referenced to a commission that had termed Qadri a mental patient, therefore he cannot take part in any election campaigns nor eligible as the chairman of a party.
It was also requested to put Dr. Qadri’s name in Exit Control List (ECL).
The allegations were come up after the Muttahida Qoumi Movement (MQM) announced to join Threek e Minhaj ul Quran during a long march on January 14.
