Meghan Markle misunderstood Kate Middleton’s olive branch by destroying the flowers sent by her as an apology, a source has claimed.
According to foreign media reports, the two British duchesses will have a strained relationship dating back to Meghan Markle’s marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
For those unfamiliar, the Duchess of Sussex revealed during her explosive chat with the celebrity host. Oprah Winfrey in 2020 that she cried for Kate during her maid of honor’s fitting, who then sent flowers to compensate.
However, now a source close to the royals, a friend of Kate’s husband Prince William, has revealed the Duchess of Cambridge’s true intentions behind the flowers sent to Markle.
Speaking to an international news portal, the source said: “Obviously it never happened. [to Meghan] that they were a peace offering, not an apology. Despite much provocation, both William and Catherine have tried to keep the peace more than anyone will realize.”
He also added that the flowers sent by Kate Middleton to Meghan Markle were actually thrown away by the Duchess of Sussex.
“Both women were clearly shaken by the maid of honor incident. There are two sides to this story. Now we have listened to both of them,” the source further stated.
Apparently, the feud between the royal ladies, made worse by tensions between their husbands Prince William and Prince Harry, isn’t going to end anytime soon. It should be noted that the Sussexes and the Cambridges didn’t even pose together for any photos during the Queen’s platinum jubilee festivities last month.
