Giant video screen falls during Hong Kong pop concert, dancers hurt
A large video panel fell onto a stage during a concert by Hong Kong boy band Mirror on Thursday, injuring at least two dancers, one of them seriously, and prompting authorities to ban the group from performing while carry out an investigation.
Videos of the screen falling were circulating on social media, while Hong Kong media reported that three members of the audience were also injured.

“I am shocked,” Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee said. “I express my sympathy for the injured and hope they recover soon.”
The government would investigate and review security procedures to protect performers, staff and the public, he said.
None of the 12 members of Mirror was injured in the accident at the Hong Kong Coliseum, next to Victoria Harbour.

The band, which was performing a series of 12 performances at the venue, had been ordered by the city government to postpone upcoming performances.
Culture Secretary Kevin Yeung said shows at the venue were suspended until the stage structure was deemed safe.
“Since the initial observation, a cable fractured and caused the screen to fall and caused the dancers to be injured,” Yeung said at a press conference on Friday.
The hugely popular cantopop group formed in 2018 through a reality show.
More than 13,000 Mirror fans have signed an online petition asking the concert organizer to fix the problems and ensure everyone’s safety.
Concert organizer MakerVille, owned by Hong Kong tycoon Richard Li’s PCCW Media Group, said it was fully investigating the accident.
“We deeply regret that the incident caused viewers or other affected individuals to be upset,” he said.
