Babar receives commemorative caps for ICC ODI, T20I Team of the Year

LAHORE: Pakistan’s best batsman, Babar Azam, has received his commemorative cap for the ODI and T20I team of the year 2021 from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Babar, who was named in the 2021 ICC ODI and T20I Team of the Year following his wonderful run in 2021 in the limited overs format, has now received his commemorative caps at his residence here.

In 2021, Babar only played six ODIs but managed to make an impact on the year with his brief stint. The top-ranked batsman scored 405 runs at an average of 67.50 including two centuries.

His best performance came against England, in which the right-handed batsman scored a career-best 158, but to no avail as the men in green failed to achieve victory despite their heroism.

However, in T20I, Babar played 29 matches and added 939 runs at an average of 37.56 with one century and nine half-centuries.

On Twitter, Babar posted a photo of himself posing with the two commemorative caps.

It is pertinent to mention here that left-handed starter Fakhar Zaman was also named alongside Babar in the 2021 ICC ODI Team of the Year, while batsman Mohammad Rizwan and left-arm pacemaker Shaheen Shah Afridi were named in the T20I. team of the year 2021.
