Al-Nassr Biggest Rivals Al-Hilal Want to Sign Lionel Messi to Match Cristiano Ronaldo
LIONEL MESSI is being eyed by Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal in a deal worth £245MILLION per year, according to reports.
Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in the Middle East earlier this month after agreeing to a £173m a year transfer to Al Nassr.
He makes him the world’s highest-paid sports star by some margin as he prepares to end his career at the club.
But according to Mundo Deportivo, Messi could have a chance to eclipse Ronaldo’s salary in the coming months.
The 35-year-old Argentine ends his contract at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Reports claim that he has a “verbal agreement” with the Ligue 1 champions to extend his stay in the French capital.
But now he is linked to a lucrative move to Al Hilal.
The Saudi team is the bitter rival of Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and the two teams form the “Riyadh derby” every year.
The deal would see Messi earn around £70m MORE than Ronaldo every year.
Al Hilal currently sits third in the Saudi Pro League, three points behind Al Nassr.
Messi also has ties to Saudi Arabia has signed a £25m deal to promote tourism in the country.
Despite the huge money supply in the Middle East, however, staying at PSG is the most likely outcome for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
His triumph in the World Cup showed that he is still one of the best players in the world.

Messi has already added 13 goals and 14 assists in 20 games for PSG this season.
