Jazlan case: Grandparents demand justice for boy killed in Karachi

KARACHI: “First my son left this world, now my grandson, my only hope in this era, was killed, I was left alone,” Jazlan’s grandfather told SIAL NEWS on Saturday, as he demanded justice for the murdered youths in cold blood by some young people over a minor verbal dispute.

Jazlan, a 17-year-old orphan, was killed in a private housing society near the Karachi Superhighway for preventing some children his age from competing on bicycles.

According to the police, Jazlan was driving his car while a suspicious teenager, Hasnain, along with his friend, were riding a motorcycle in a ‘zigzag’ fashion in society, after which Hasnain called his older brother and a few other friends, who came and opened fire on poor Jazlan. .

Jazlan suffered critical gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital, where he died during treatment.

The father of the deceased told SIAL NEWS that Jazlan was doing ICMA, she loved music and could also play guitar and piano.

He added that they celebrated Jazlan’s birthday a few days ago when the boy also went to his father’s grave.

Police are yet to arrest three defendants in the case three days after the horror unfolded at the private housing society. The law enforcement agency claims they arrested a child and raided several places to arrest other defendants, but so far they were unable to arrest any of them or recover the murder weapon.
