$60 million Slovenian star chastizes Gilbert Arenas for clinging to “stay relevant” with Giannis Antetokounmpo comments

Gilbert Arenas has been talking and recently, the Bulls’ $60 million star Goran Dragic cast a very justified shadow for those unruly comments.

It has been a long, ongoing tradition, where players of the past, who have experienced minimal success, have made a point of criticizing today’s NBA champions!

The current generation of NBA players is undeniably and unquestionably superior to previous generations. This statement is true, especially regarding skill, durability, and technique.

Goran Dragic is one of them. Dragic, who has accumulated a sum of above 100 million, has given his opinion on these scenarios. The Slovenian star was unmoved by Gilbert’s comments.

Although a handful of players have been part of the active revolution that has involved honing your craft in terms of skill, only a few can be placed in such conversations with today’s stars.

This includes the likes of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, and Ray Allen.

When these legends speak, today’s players perceive it as constructive criticism, as they are the stars of yesterday, the ones who have transfigured the game. They have had a profound impact on the way basketball is played today.

When some others speak, they tend to sound superior. Of course they were skilled in their own right, yet not once did they use their craft to acclaimed success.

Gilbert Arenas has long been an outspoken and direct character. However, his opinions have landed him in hot water from time to time.

His comments this time are too outlandish, to put it mildly. The former three-time NBA All-Star had made some ignorant and obtuse comments, directed at NBA champion Giannis Antetekounmpo.

Arenas stated-

“The media tries to bridge the gap. Oh, he is the best player in the league.” Not even close. He still doesn’t understand basketball.”

Coming to the aid of the ‘Greek monster’ was European star Dragic, who made his feelings clear, in response to Arenas.

“Giannis is MVP. Gilbert Arenas, I don’t know, was he ever an MVP? I don’t think so, so I think he can talk about Giannis. Giannis won a championship, MVP, DPOY. Sometimes when they retire, [they] you want to be relevant and sometimes you appear in the media. It is what it is.”
