24 Hours After Klay Thompson’s ‘Vote of Confidence,’ Andrew Wiggins Earns Praise From Stephen Curry
Considering the sublime form the Orlando Magic have had, the Golden State Warriors were not expected to get the win tonight. However, a dominant performance by Andrew Wiggins in the fourth quarter, he helped the Bay Area team to a victory and keep their postseason hopes alive. Just a day after Klay Thompson spoke about the importance of Wiggins, after tonight’s game, the latter received praise this time from Stephen Curry.
Andrew Wiggins was having a relatively slow night until the fourth quarter. With 13 points and 3 rebounds in the final 12 minutes of the game, the 6-foot-7 forward finished the night with 23 points and 6 rebounds on 47.1% shooting from the field and 50% from 3 from the field, per NBA.com.
Speaking about Wiggins’ game-winning performance, Steph revealed how the Warriors’ game plan was to run plays through the Canadian during the fourth quarter.
“He took over almost the entire fourth quarter. We ran pretty much the entire offense through him and he just made play after play.” Steph said.
Curry also highlighted the importance of Andrew Wiggins putting up such production late in the season. According to the two-time MVP, with the 29-year-old being aggressive, he can raise the level of the San Francisco team and lead them to victory.
“You put the ball in his hands and he can make plays. He won the game for us tonight, plain and simple. He probably accepted that challenge… The ability to just be aggressive and take the shots that he knows he can take. Pressing the rim, knocking down threes, like everything. He had the whole bag going today.” Curry added, mate Antonio Slater.

Klay Thompson, after last night’s victory over the Miami Heat, also spoke about Wiggins’ importance to the team in its quest to win a championship. At first, Thompson emphasized the flier’s two-way abilities. The Splash Brother also stated that the Golden State Warriors would not be able to perform at their full potential without Wiggs.
“That’s why we won the championship. It was because of Andrew’s two-way game. Obviously we need him to be that. [a two-way player] to go where we want to go and he is very vital to what we do. Without it, we cannot reach our full potential.” Thompson mentioned.
With an average of 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, per NBA.com, the former Kansas Jayhawk barely has the same level of production that he had in the 2022 Finals. However, Wiggins has picked up the pace over the past week.

While the Warriors are in a tough battle against the Houston Rockets to finish 10th In the standings, Andrew Wiggins will need to make several such outings over the remainder of the season and help Steph Curry lead the team to secure a postseason berth.
