21 Levies Personnel killed by Taliban burried
PESHAWAR: The dead bodies of 21 Levies security personnel, who were abducted and later killed by Taliban, were flown to their ancestral villages where the burial took place Monday, Geo News reported.
On 27th December, the militants attacked a military camps in Frontier Region, killing two and kidnapping 23 soldiers after one hour of fire exchange.
The administration was on high alert and contacted elder tribal leaders for safe release of the soldiers.
However, the negotiations failed and 21 bodies of soldiers were found on a road near Hasan Khel last night.
The bodies of the martyred personnel were sent to their ancestral areas where they were buried today.
One personnel survived the execution but was badly injured and admitted to Lady Reading Hospital while another escaped and reached home safely.
