Zoya Akhtar admits being a ‘little nervous’ for ‘The Archies’; Here’s why!

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar revealed to be nervous about her long-awaited ‘The Archies’ starring newcomers Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor.

Celebrated filmmaker Zoya Akhtar who is set to entertain fans once again, this time with a group of debuting child stars and their take on the comic book classic. ‘The Archies’chatted with an India-based media outlet to talk more about the upcoming title.

During their conversation, Akhtar revealed ‘Archis’ being a substantial part of her childhood and adolescence, which is why she was excited for the on-screen adaptation of the comics with many new faces. I am currently recording the archies aa feature film, and I hope it will be released next year,” he said.

“The characters are iconic and loved all over the world, so I’m a little nervous too,” Akhtar admitted. “I have to make sure the movie stoke the nostalgia of a generation that grew up with comics and yet resonates with today’s young adults.”

The creators revealed the first look at the Netflix film earlier this month with, “Get ready to take a trip down memory lane because The Archies is coming soon only on @netflix_in.”

The film will mark the debut of three of the child stars, Suhana Khan (daughter of Shahrukh Khan), Khushi Kapoor (daughter of the late actor Sridevi), and Agastya Nanda (grandson of Amitabh Bachchan).

In addition to the trio, young actors Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda, Dot, and Vedang Raina will play pivotal roles in the film.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the Indian take on the comics classic, set in the 1960s, is coming to streaming portal Netflix sometime next year. Reema Kagti is producing the film with Akhtar, while Ayesha Devitre has written the script.
