T20 Cricket Series: Pakistan Team squad leaves for India

LAHORE: Fervent Pakistani squad has left for India here on Saturday, for its first bilateral series against India in five years.

The first batch, led by Pakistan’s Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez, will play two-match series that starts in Bangalore on December 25. The team will land in New Delhi and will take a chartered flight to Bangalore where it is expected to reach tonight.

The second game will be played in Ahmadabad on December 28.

Pakistan’s 50-over squad is expected to leave on December 26 for the three-match series.

Pakistan held a series of practice sessions and played a few warm-up games during a week-long training camp that concluded in Lahore on Thursday.

On Friday, the touring party had a meeting with Zaka Ashraf, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman at the Board headquarters in Lahore.

The last time the two neighbouring countries met in a bilateral series was way back in 2007 when Pakistan toured India.
