DUBAI: Sri Lanka replaced Pakistan to retake third place in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings following their remarkable 246-run victory over the national team in the second Test in Galle on Thursday.

According to the latest WTC ranking published by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Sri Lanka improved its position in the table to increase its chances of appearing in next year’s World Test Championship final between the top two teams in the standings. .

Meanwhile, Pakistan dropped two places to fifth from third after the crushing defeat in the second Test.

After their incredible four-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the first test, Pakistan had previously secured third place.

The recent shake-up in the WTC rankings also saw the West Indies drop one place to sixth, while India maintained its fourth position.
