Sindh govt employees hail raise in salaries

KARACHI: The Sindh government employees have hailed the 15 percent raise in the salaries of those falling in BPS one to BPS 15 and 10 percent for BPS 16 to BPS 22 employees under the provincial budget 2013-2014, announced here on Monday.

Talking to APP they also appreciated 10 percent raise in the pension of the employees, with minimum pension raised from Rs 3000 per month to Rs 5000 per month.

They said the much needed support would be helpful in tackling the fast growing inflation rate and shall be of considerable relief for them.

“Most of us were, however, expecting a minimum 20 percent raise in our salaries,” said an officer associated with provincial social welfare department.

The employees appealed to the provincial government to adopt a strict attitude towards hoarders and profiteers so that they may not be able to fleece the public in general.
