Shaquille O’Neal Confesses Meeting Popstar Only Because of Jason Kelce ‘Hook Up’
Everyone is fascinated by singers, rappers and pop stars growing up. Listening to your favorite music or your favorite artist is something that everyone enjoys. And meeting some of the biggest names in the music industry was something Shaquille O’Neal enjoyed since his early years in the NBA. But how did Shaq end up meeting Taylor Swift? Well, the Hall of Famer has Jason Kelce to thank for that.
Shaquille O’Neal recently had Jamal Crawford as a guest on The great podcast with Shaq. While on the podcast, Shaq revealed some of the rappers he had met on his day and how he ended up meeting Taylor Swift.
The Los Angeles Lakers legend met the pop star during the last Superbowl at Allegiant Stadium.
He mentioned that he was in section 188 while she was in 192, so he walked to her section only to be denied entry until halftime.
He credited his co-host Adam Lefkoe for connecting him with Jason Kelce, which ultimately led to him meeting Taylor Swift. Shaq admitted that if he hadn’t had the connection, he wouldn’t have tried to meet her.
“If you hadn’t connected me with Jason, I would never have tried to meet Taylor Swift but because I had the connection. But even when I met her I said it would be three minutes.”
Shaquille O’Neal’s meeting with Taylor Swift was an interesting test, to say the least. Being separated by only a few sections, Shaq walked to Taylor Siwft’s section only to be denied entry until halftime.
Even after having a great time, Shaq met the pop star, shook her hand and took a photo with her and Ice Spice, a moment the big man probably enjoyed, given how much he loves meeting new people. O’Neal had a few different comments about Ice Spice, but that’s a story for another day.

Shaquille O’Neal had shown interest in wanting to meet Taylor Swift for some time. The four-time NBA champion had always held her in the highest regard whenever her name appeared on the NBA’s TNT show.
He may have even mentioned that he wanted to meet Taylor Swift and wanted to shake her hand. And two days later, Shaq ended up saying it himself when he met her at the last Superbowl.
“I just want to shake the hand of greatness. If I see Taylor Swift and shake her hand and take her picture, I’ll be good.”
O’Neal showed his love for her by appreciating what she had done in the world of music. while talking to Page six at Shaq’s Fun House Super Bowl Party.
“She is a fabulous person. I’m happy for her. I am proud of her. She has done a lot. She is definitely a cultural icon. ”
Shaquille O’Neal isn’t exactly a superstar. During his NBA career, he was one of the most recognizable names in the league and, since his retirement, his popularity has only grown. So, it’s admirable of him to be so humble and respect Taylor Swift’s greatness from the bottom of her heart, something Swift probably not only noticed but greatly appreciated.
