PSL 9 Final: Sultans, United to lock horns today
KARACHI – The final of the ninth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be played today between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United.
The decision on who will be the HBL PSL 9 champion will be made tonight at the National Stadium in Karachi, where both teams will compete for the title.
Islamabad has won the trophy twice while Multan Sultans have won the title once.
Multan Sultans reached the final by defeating Peshawar Zalmi in the eliminator, while Islamabad United defeated Quetta Gladiators in Eliminator 1 and then snatched victory from Peshawar in Eliminator 2 to reach the final.
Captains of both teams, Mohammad Rizwan and Shadab Khan, posed for photographs with the trophy in front of the historic Karachi Port Trust building.
As far as the pitch is concerned, it is the same pitch at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi where Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi played Playoff 2.
The pitch assisted the players with bounce and pace, helping them get wickets. The field is expected to perform similarly today.
Multan Sultans and Islamabad United are strong teams. The Sultans proved to be stronger in both departments among the two teams in the HBL PSL 9, Islamabad showed a remarkable performance after securing two consecutive knockout victories.
However, when comparing the teams and reviewing previous matches, Multan still seems stronger than Islamabad in the bowling, fielding and batting departments.
