Charles Barkley is known as the Round Bounce Mound. However, recently fans and LaMelo Ball discovered that he is also a great passer.

The 1984 NBA Draft was filled with several future Hall of Farmers. This includes the likes of Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, and John Stockton.

Another Hall of Fame player from this legendary draft was none other than Charles Barkley.

A player fondly remembered for his incredible rebounding and ability to score from the post at will.

However, Sir Charles was not just about grabbing boards and driving opponents back. He might even throw a few dimes here and there, as LaMelo Ball recently discovered.

LaMelo Ball was pleasantly surprised to see Charles Barkley throw a pass from behind

The Round Mound of Rebound, Charles Barkley had an incredible run. One that saw him be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006.

Averaging 22 points, 12 rebounds and four assists per game, Barkley was well known for many things. However, passing wasn’t one of them, as fans around the world and even Hornets superstar LaMelo Ball were shocked to learn!

Having averaged just four assists per game throughout his career, LaMelo Ball’s upset isn’t all that surprising. Although he was never at the level of being an elite passer like LaMelo himself.

However, Sir Charles had some pretty decent games as a playmaker, as he had more than five assists in at least one game in each of his 16 NBA seasons.

Charles Barkley was no stranger to throwing the occasional behind-the-back pass.

It’s true that Barkley’s first plan of action on the floor wasn’t to look for the open man. He’d rather risk taking him to the basket on his own, but when he decided to spread the ball, he threw some behind-the-back passes.

It just goes to show that you can never judge a book by its cover. Especially when that book is about one of the greatest players in the history of the sport of basketball.
