Michael Jordan has a $1.7 fortune now, but troubled mother Deloris by saying he would die young
Michael Jordan achieved incredible success in his career, and now, at 59, the NBA GOAT is shocked that he has made it this far.
The Bulls legend has achieved what NBA players dream of doing in their career. Six championships, six Finals MVPs, five NBA MVPs, an obvious induction into the Hall of Fame and much more have cemented Jordan’s legacy as the greatest NBA player of all time.
So why was his career so confusing? Well, she’s retired three times in his career, to give you some context. If that sounds weird to you, that’s because it is. His first retirement was by far the most surprising as it came only nine years into his career, and he had just started winning at the highest level, coming off his first three-time championship.

Michael Jordan used to annoy his mother by talking about dying early
Jordan has done a lot of things that he never thought he would do in his career. His investments have made him one of the richest people in sports, if not the richest.
Jordan has a net worth of $1.7 billion and he has done it in a variety of ways. For one thing, he owns the Charlotte Hornets, which brings him a lot of money every year, even if the team isn’t doing that well.
Second, it gets most of its money from the Jordan brand and Nike. Jordan has been the face of the brand for the longest time and is profiting hugely, earning $150 million a year.
Despite the success, though, Jordan didn’t think he’d be here now. At 59, he has redefined success, and in the process, he, too, surprised himself a bit.
“I… I always thought I would die young,” he once said. Jordan used to talk about it with her mother too, and she wouldn’t appreciate it. Deloris helped Jordan tremendously while he was growing up, and she would get angry whenever Jordan talked about death or death.
