“My butt’s too big to fit on these rides!”: 7’1 Shaquille O’Neal expressed his theme park sorrows to 15 million people
Shaquille O’Neal took to social media to let everyone know his butt was too big to fit on Knott’s Berry Farm rides.
Shaquille O’Neal is a big man. We could end this right here with that statement, but let’s move on. With a 7’0 frame, let’s just say it’s hard to miss if you see him walking down the street. His weight has fluctuated between 325 pounds and 375 pounds, and he claims it was the last of him during the final year of his 3-peat Lakers in 2002.
Over the past 30 years that Shaq has been in the public eye, any appearance of him in late-night segments or interviews has had at least one or two conversations about his height. Whether it’s how small donuts and phones look when he’s holding them or how they don’t fit in the very Buicks he endorsed, the media has made it abundantly clear that Shaq is a very big man.
While the 7-foot-0 Shaquille O’Neal helped him build his illustrious 19-year NBA career, his day-to-day life isn’t always all that pretty. This is simply due to the fact that, well, ‘The Great Aristotle’ is too big for many mundane activities.
One such activity would be theme park rides.

Shaquille O’Neal tweets his discomfort at Knott’s Berry Farm.
Knott’s Berry Farm is an amusement/theme park located in California and Shaquille O’Neal decided to visit it in the summer of 2009. That summer he was traded from the Phoenix Suns and LeBron James’s Cleveland Cavaliers for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic. , a second-round pick and $500,000.
Theme parks usually have to limit patrons who might be too young for the rides, as they might squeeze in between. Shaq, on the other hand, had to be limited because he was too big. About 350 pounds of muscle and fat packed into one person on the trip would definitely increase the risk factor.
Somehow O’Neal was allowed on the rides and it’s safe to say the main issue here was his discomfort. At that point, he decided to go on Twitter and tweet, “I’m at Knott’s Berry Farm and my butt is too big to fit in the ride seats. Ahhhh (that’s me screaming).”
