“That’s Russell SplashBrook!”: Lakers Fans Get Excited Seeing Russell Westbrook Outlast LeBron James and Anthony Davis In A Shooting Contest
Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis and LeBron James engage in a shooting contest after practice, and Lakers fans couldn’t help but react.
The Los Angeles Lakers are looking for redemption. Like the 2008 US Olympic team, the 2022-23 Lakers are trying to get out there and show the world what they’re really capable of. They share a common bond, namely LeBron James. However, the difference between the two lists is enough to tell us how the story is going to go.
After the Lakers went 33-49 last season, Russell Westbrook was ridiculed and vilified throughout Laker Nation. He sure Anthony Davis and LeBron James were out often due to injuries, but that didn’t seem to be on his mind. They went after Brodie as if he were a criminal on the loose.
This season, the Lakers have a new head coach.
After failing to find a suitable trade for Russ, Purple and Gold decided to give their 360 another go. This causes fans to question the composition and success of the team for the upcoming season. However, a recent practice clip put fans at ease a bit.

Fans react to Russell Westbrook’s shots better than LeBron James and Anthony Davis
The Los Angeles Lakers is a team that is largely lacking in pure shooters. This is a fact that everyone knows. Unlike previous LBJ teams, the Lakers consistently fail to surround the King with floor spacers. In a recent clip uploaded by Dave McMenamin, we can see the Lakers’ Big 3 take on each other for a post-shoot challenge practice.

This caused Lakers fans to split. Some wanted to talk about the gunfight looking better, while others refused to believe the same thing until they saw it in a real game.

Westbrook jokes aside that his form seems to be faster and it looks like his coach or whoever told him to loosen up on the way up, which is good.

That’s shooting for fun…those jumpers aren’t up to the pace of the game or serious…you can’t emulate the actual speed of the game or take any of this at all…

Whether this actually tells us anything about their shot or not, this clip shows that their chemistry is looking better than before. Let’s see how the Lakers are doing this season, and if they can really make their 360 work.
