Michael Jordan scares LeBron James’ teammate by betting $1000 and calling his career mediocre
Playing golf with Michael Jordan can be intimidating, LeBron James’ former teammate Jr Smith found this out the hard way.
Playing with great players can be a daunting task for anyone. No matter how good you think you are, if you go up against someone truly elite, you can never live up to their expectations. It is a fact.
For JR Smith, he learned that Michael Jordan is everything he is said to be and more. The NCATSU student and 3-time NBA champion discovered what it was like to rub shoulders with one of the best players in the game. And that’s exactly how you think it happened!
We know that Michael Jordan likes competition, so much so that he’ll be willing to throw wads of cash at almost pointless games. With a hefty $2.1 billion fortune at his disposal, betting thousands upon thousands is nothing to lose sleep over.
But for JR Smith, a thousand on an absurd bet on a golf course, no less, might be a little more than he bargained for. But MJ wasn’t having it.

You know you’re good when Michael Jordan jabs at you and we think JR felt that way!
So JR felt the bet was too big, $1000 no kidding. And it certainly isn’t money to throw away on a golf course. We’re also stumped as to how the two ended up on a golf course.
But it’s likely due to the fact that JR is part of the varsity golf team. Her resume speaks for itself and we already know about MJ’s love of golf.

But, one thing is for sure, the fact that a guy like MJ said your run was good means that it carries a lot of weight and merit. The greatest of all time complimenting your career, even as a sarcastic comment is a big deal.

JR has also played numerous seasons alongside LeBron and all three of his championship rings came while with the Lakers superstar.
And he has often drawn parallels to the two titans without really comparing them. But this encounter with MJ could leave him rooting for his friend. Who knows.
