Hasnain’s action declared legal, allowed to resume bowling

LAHORE: Pakistan’s right-arm fast bowler Muhammad Hasnain’s bowling action has been approved after verification of test reports of his action by the independent experts at Cricket Australia, paving the way for the youngster to Pacemaker resume bowling in all forms of cricket.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Hasnain’s bowling action has been declared legal as the amount of elbow extension at reassessment was found to be within the tolerance level of 15 degrees allowed under the Illegal Bowling Regulations of the ICC.

The 22-year-old can now resume bowling in all forms of cricket, including domestic cricket around the world, PCB announced.

Hasnain underwent a re-assessment of his bowling action on May 21 at the International Cricket Council (ICC) accredited testing center in Lahore. The PCB submitted test reports to Cricket Australia on June 4 for verification by independent experts, in accordance with ICC regulations.

Hasnain was reported for alleged bowling action during the Big Bash League in Australia in January 2022.

He was suspended from bowling after independent experts from Cricket Australia found his bowling action to be illegal following tests carried out on his bowling action at the ICC accredited testing center in Lahore.
