Shaquille O’Neal was pretty fast for someone who weighed over 340 pounds for most of his career.

Weighing in at nearly 340 pounds for most of his career, one would naturally assume the former LSU Tiger’s skill set was very limited. In fact, The Big Diesel had a huge arsenal on the job and was much faster than you can imagine.

Shaquille O’Neal ran 30m faster than Tyson Gay ran 60m

In 2010, during an episode of “Shaq vs Shaq,” the then 37-year-old decided to challenge Tyson Gay to a head-to-head battle.

According to the rules of the event, both athletes would participate in a 60-meter race.

The twist, though: O’Neal had an early 30-yard lead.

Surprisingly, the Hall of Famer, who was in the final years of his NBA career, managed to run quite well.

Winning the race handily, O’Neal completed his 30 m in 4.86 seconds, while the sprinter completed his 60 m in 6.08 seconds.
