Balochistan Gas Supply Disrupted After Bolan Pipeline Explosion
Gas supply to several Balochistan towns and parts of Quetta was disrupted after an explosion badly damaged a main pipeline in the Bolan area of Kachhi district.
Sui Southern Gas Company confirmed that an 18-inch pipeline had been hit, affecting households and businesses across a wide area. Residents were warned to expect reduced pressure or a complete suspension until repairs could be completed.
Areas facing gas disruption
Kolpur, Mach, Mastung, Kalat, Pishin, Ziarat and multiple parts of Quetta were among the locations named by the utility. Service conditions may differ by neighbourhood depending on network pressure and available supply.
SSGC placed the damaged section near the KMP-246 valve assembly in the Bolan riverbed, several hundred metres from the main Quetta-Sibi Road.
Repair teams await security clearance
Company teams were prepared to start restoration work but needed security clearance before entering the affected site. Officials said the situation was being monitored and supplies would be restored as quickly as conditions permitted.
Authorities had not publicly identified those responsible at the time of the initial report. Investigators will need to establish how the pipeline was targeted and whether any suspects can be linked to the explosion.
